Barley and I have decided to do the Best Paw Forward walk on 22nd September to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

 

This is a charity that will forever be in my heart. Over the past 7 years I have lost 3 people to cancer and each time it has been the most painful, gut wrenching experience I have had to go through. Cancer is a ravenous disease that needs to be beaten.

In 2006 I lost my beloved Grandfather to lung cancer after a year long battle that involved heavy chemo and radiotherapy. As strong as he fought, the cancer won and he passed away with his family at his bedside.

Having taken a few years to accept this we were then hit with the horrible news in 2010 that my Nan had been diagnosed with Pancreas cancer, and what was worse it was already at a stage that was too late to treat. Nan had 4 months from the day of diagnosis until she passed away, and gracefully spent those 4 months with her family around her as cancer rapidly took its toll.

As if this isn't enough for one family to go through we were then struck with the absolutely horrible news in late 2012 that my Auntie Sue had bowel and liver cancer. She stood brave in the face against the disease and continously fought to be cured. The chemo was aggressive, and she went on to have surgery too. Unfortunately the treatment wasn't a match for the cancer and on 2nd September 2013 she also unfortunately passed away leaving a loving family behind her.

 

This can't continue to happen to people and their families so this is why we are fundraising for cancer research uk.

It's a 5 mile walk and we are so excited to be taking part. Please if you have a spare moment leave a donation and help fight Cancer.
