Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As most of you visiting this page will know I am a GP in Perthshire and also am involved with BASICS Scotland and The Sandpiper Trust in helping to provide emergency pre-hospital care and training in Scotland. Having worked in various remote and rural parts of Scotland including Wester Ross, Inverness, Speyside and now Perthshire I have on many occasions had cause to be grateful for the equipment provided by Sandpiper. I am not able to tell the story of The Sandpiper Trust even nearly as well as the Trust's website does and would - even for interest - encourage everyone to take the time to copy the link below and find out a little bit more about this wonderful organisation.

In brief, Sandpiper fundraise to provide medical equipment, originally in the form of the Sandpiper Bag, but also various other forms of equipment and training support. At a cost of well over £1000 per bag there are now many hundreds of Sandpiper Bags across Scotland that enable nurses, GPs, paramedics and other medical responders to help save lives in all kinds of pre-hospital situations. I carry equipment provided by The Sandpiper Trust to every call that I attend and am delighted to go through some hilly pain in order to try and further their cause. Please take a look at the Sandpiper Trust website even if you feel unable to donate; it is well worth knowing about!
