Havering Mind is a mental health charity based in Hornchurch and affiliated to National Mind. Our mission is to supply advice and support to anyone that is experiencing a mental health problem.

Story

Back in the old uni days myself (Benny) and Paul were living together, and came up with some weird and crazy ideas while feasting on good old Kens fried chicken :) You can already tell that we were fitness enthusiasts!
The majority of our ideas always somehow circled around food, hence the numereous trips to china town from portsmouth at stupid o clock just to get a roast duck on rice and bubble tea lolz Not to mention driving down to Heathrow from portsmouth at midnight just to play bowling with our beloved circle of friends.

One particular idea stuck which for once did not involve roadtripping across the country, in search of delicious food :) And that idea was scaling the mountain named KILIMANJARO....Now this idea was formed in our heads 7 years ago, and we both vowed that we would attempt to conquer this mountain before we reached the grand old age of 30, and so here we are at the tender age of 28 and 29 respectively, all booked and preparing to embark on the journey of our lives. We would like to share our journey and our personal struggles that eventually brings us to our goal.

We have chosen the mental health Charity Mind to raise money and awareness for those who suffer from mental health issues. Many of us have known friends and loved ones who have suffered some form of mental health problem, with the biggest of them all in our personal case being depression. So many suffer from depression, yet it still goes unnoticed and largely understated. So on this journey we dedicate our efforts and our struggles to those who have suffered.

So lets begin...we welcome any donations made however big or small, every little help. No money will be put towards the trip itself as this is fully funded by myself and Paul, to ensure we can raise as much as possible and give as much as possible directly to charity. Please join us on our Journey :) #Letsdothis
