I will be spurred on by the memory of my good friend's daughter, Katie MacRae. Her amazing humour, wit and intelligence will encourage me along the streets of Tyneside with a smile, carried to the finish by calling upon the will power Katie displayed in abundance.

Almost two years to the date of this year's Great North Run, on 13th September 2019, Katie passed away. She was 17 and had confronted Undifferentiated Neuroendocrine Carcinoma, a very rare form of cancer, for two years.

In memory of Katie and her fantastic family, I am so glad to be able to run this event and I would be delighted if you could donate to help support Team Young Lives vs Cancer. Just a little can mean so much.
