Story
My lovely Dad, Bob Gibbs, passed away on 24th March 2020 from COVID-19.
He was an amazingly warm, generous and funny man, and we, his family, and his many friends will miss him dreadfully.
During his last few days, he was cared for by the amazing team of doctors and nurses at Princess Royal Hospital in Farnborough. They risked their lives to make his last moments as comfortable as possible, pain free and dignified.
The last time I saw him on the day he went into hospital, he was already giving them cheek, joking in the scariest of situations, and also thanking them for everything they were doing for him. He was so proud of the NHS, and admired everyone who worked for them.
Dad's funeral is on Friday 3rd April, and will be a closed affair because of the risks around COVID-19. We know a lot of you would have wanted to be there, and as you can't, would want to send flowers as remembrance.
Instead, to honour and remember my Dad, please donate what you would have spent on flowers to this fund which supports NHS workers through this unprecedented and difficult time. He would love that some good would come from his passing, and would love that in some way he is supporting those doctors and nurses who helped him.
