Tony passed away suddenly on 11th March 2018, aged 57.  He spent the day coaching his Maidenhead RFU Colts team to a fantastic victory and had come home to make his signature Devon pasties for dinner and to catch up on the day's Six Nations matches when he suffered a heart attack. We take huge comfort knowing that his final day was spent doing what he loved.

Anyone who knew Tony or 'Brooksie' knows that rugby was a huge part of his life. He had a fantastic playing career as a number 8 for Plymouth College, Plymouth Albion, Devon County, England Schools, U19's & U23's, Oxford University, Bath, Barbarians, Rossyln Park and Maidenhead. After hanging up his boots he went into coaching and became Director of Rugby at Maidenhead RFU. A club and rugby family he was incredibly proud of. Through his decades of contribution to the game he has impacted the lives of a great number of people and will be remembered as the ultimate club man and the gentlest of giants with time and a smile for everyone. 

Many of Tony's happiest and proudest moments and dearest friends were from the sport. He passionately believed the game taught life's most important lessons and values. Wooden Spoon is a charity that shares these beliefs and Tony was a great admirer of the wonderful work they do with disabled and disadvantaged children.
