We are there when it matters to support people through dying or grief.

Story

It was with the deepest sadness that we lost our dear colleague Katie Cooper after her 3 year battle against cancer at the age of 28.

In memory of Katie, colleagues from the Calmag team and members of their families are undertaking ‘The Starlight Hike’ a fundraising walk of 10k on Saturday 30th September 2017 for our local Sue Ryder Hospice,Manorlands where Katie spent her final days.

Katie joined Calmag in June 2006 as a Business Administration Apprentice and spent the next years developing her role andskills in the Administration and Accounts department, including training in book-keeping and accounts, customer services, procurement, team leading and managing new and existing staff and finally she commenced a part-time Business degree at Bradford University which was sadly cut short due to her illness.

Katie had a passion for business and all those who she came into contact with, including her colleagues within the company, customers and suppliers and was held in great esteem by everyone.  She is loved and missed terribly by all of us at Calmag and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for Manorlands who took care of Katie and made her last days as comfortable as possible.

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.
