Story
Myself and Callum Cobb are running the TCS NYC marathon in November 2019! A year on from Leon’s death we were accepted (with help from friends) to the marathon!
New York was Leon’s favourite city in the world. It was the last place Leon and I visited together. After an epic fail in my previous marathon getting injured and barely crossing the line I made the promise to do another and what better city than New York!!
Callum is also dealing with cancer in his family with his father on the mend bladder cancer!. This is added motivation for us both to smash this challenge.
Callum and I both attended the University of Rio Grande 10 years apart, the Rio family brought us together and we hope they can all support as we train. Callum being 10 years younger means he should be finishing well before I do ;)
We have set the £9000 target as that would mean we completely pay for a day at St Catherine’s hospice were Leon spent the last week of his life. We are grateful for EVERY donation regardless of size. We will push ourselves for the next few months to do the best time possible.
I am all for accepting challenges for added £ as long as it doesn’t add weight! Make me an offer and I’ll see if it can be done.
