Reading Half Marathon 2022 · 3 April 2022 ·

In their 150th year, Reading FC have secured 150 places in the Reading Half Marathon for loyal Royal's fans who want to take part an raise vital funds to support local young people's mental health!

Story

On the 18/09/2020 I decided I was fed up being overweight and unhealthy. My mental health was in tatters and I decided to do couch 2 5k to try help me with some of this. My first day I was struggling to run for 8 minutes. Fast forward to now, I’m 4 stone lighter, I run a minimum of 5k every other day. I have done this on my own back never had a personal trainer or taken tablets.

I’m extremely honoured to be running on behalf of Reading football club. A club i adore and it’s always been a dream since I started running to do my hometown half marathon. What better way then to do it for a mental health charity for young people.

No5 Young People is a charity which provides counselling and preventative outreach mental health services to children and young people aged 11 and 25 years who live, work or study within the RG postcode area. The charity delivers open access, self-referral services to any child or young person who contacts them, aiming to offer help at the very earliest point of asking intervening when issues first arise and supporting young people at the first time of asking to prevent those struggles or difficulties escalating.

Thank you I appreciate you all
