Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page in memory of our amazing little boy Max.

 

Max sadly passed away at Great Ormond Street Hospital on Friday 28th September 2012.  He had a malignant brain tumour.  He had been seriously ill during August and September but sadly both Hillingdon and Chelsea and Westminster Hospitals miss diagnosed his illness.

 

Max was rushed to GOSH from Chelsea and Westminster hospital in the early hours of Monday 24th September by the amazing CATS team (Children's Acute Transport Service).  Immediately on arrival a CT scan identified a massive tumour and build up of fluid on Max's brain.  A drip was inserted in surgery to alleviate the pressure. 

 

During Monday the team of Doctors and Nurses on PICU fought tirelessly to keep Max alive, the tumour was causing problems to Max's heart and he suffered a number of cardiac arrests.  He was taken for emergency surgery and the amazing Neurosurgeons managed to "de bulk" the tumour and stabilise Max.

 

Sadly an MRI scan showed the extent of brain damage Max had endured and on Friday 28th September at 2pm it broke our hearts to let our poor baby boy go.

 

Keeping Max's memory alive is so important and helps us come to terms with what has happened.
