Mum had a terrible fear of giving to charities that then exploited a vast array of animals in medical testing (as do the British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer's UK and Cancer Research UK).  She firmly believed there was another way and two charities are taking this forward - the Humane Research Trust and the Dr. Hadwen Trust.  They each fund ethical medical research without the use of animals.
