We build classrooms and medical facilities to give Kenyan children a better life

Story

Thanks very much for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Lara and I are going out to Kenya in July 2017 to help with the Rafiki Footsteps Programme.  Whilst out there we will be helping with Footsteps various building projects and working with children including Grace,  a little girl we have been lucky enough to sponsor for the last 10 years.  We will be meeting her for the first time when we go out there!

Footsteps is a fantastic charity which my brother is a Trustee of and it focuses on changing the lives of children living in the desperately poor communities around Kisumu, near Lake Victoria in Kenya. It is run entirely voluntarily and every single penny that is raised goes to fund the work in Kenya.

It helps the children and communities by building schools, providing education materials and teaching support, providing the local communities with access to clean water; funding the provision of medical facilities to help prevent deaths from easily treatable illnesses such as diarrhoea and malaria as well as HIV/AIDS;

The Footsteps Rafiki Programme that we are going on aims at broadening the experience of the children in the communities Footsteps work with; bringing some fun and play into their lives: introducing them to sports and arts and creating the opportunity to meet new people and gain some understanding of the world outside their village.

If you're able to sponsor us we would be so grateful.  Will keep you updated on our various challenges that we will be doing through the year.

Many thanks

Lara and Charlie
