Story
I am so pleased to announce that the chairty event we will be holding in memory of my Dad Andrew peter Simpson who sadly committed suicide in 2004 I can't even count the amount of times I have sat and wondered why, having no answers is awful, so I am now setting out to try and reduce to suicide rates by raising money for a charity who help people with mental health and depression.
DATE - the event date is being moved from the 8th of June as a few important family member can't make it, to a date in July which will be announced ASAP.
This is also for everyone who has lost a loved one through suicide or the people who ever feel they are alone, we will be raising money for a local chairty called lancashire MIND who work with people with mental health problems here is the link for their website - http://www.lancashiremind.org.uk/
The event will start with a sponsored walk from the highfield social to south pier and back the reason I am doing this is because walking improves self-perception and self-esteem, mood and sleep quality, and it reduces stress, anxiety and fatigue. Physically active people have up to a 30% reduced risk of becoming depressed, and staying active helps those who are depressed recover. Then we will be holding a fundraising evening at The Highfield Social Club which will include food, Dj and a raffle, i really hope this can make a difference in people's lives and if it saves one ill be happy.
I would really apprechiate anyone who would like to donate prizes towards the raffle, please get in touch #suicideawareness #mentalhealth #yourneveralone #inmemoryofdad #gonebutneverforgotton @MindLancashire
