Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On June 18th 2013, Myself and a group of others will be taking part in a 7 mile walk in Memory of my Granny, Margaret Westran who sadly died just over two years ago. After being diagnosed at the age of just 59, She battled Dementia for 7 years, giving up her fight on the 18th June 2010 aged 66. Over the years Alzheimer's Scotland provided great support. While my granny was in a stable enough mind she attended a day care on a Wednesday and Saturday called ' Alzheimer's Stranraer ' - she loved attending. They worked well with her providing activities, comfort and company. Not only did they work well with my granny, the also supported my family too. In my opinion Alzheimer is not given the publicity it should. The disease robs people of their lives and families of their loved ones. The charity in particular is not given enough gratitude for the work they do either, this is why I would like to raise money for them, not only to thank them and support them for the work they did for my granny, but to support them so they can continue doing the great work they do.
