Story
Thanks for helping me support Shelter.
At the age of 63, I have now completed the first ever Shrewsbury Marathon in order to help Shelter help those in real need. The UK is one of the wealthiest countries in the world, yet over a million of our people struggle with homelessness or bad housing. Help Shelter give them a helping hand.
I did complete the course, coming in 345th out of 387 who completed, and 12th out of the 19 over-60s. Unfortunately I did not manage to come in at under 4hrs, actually taking 5hrs. It was a tough course with several climbs, and I pulled a tendon in my right calf during training only 10 days before the race. So I'm glad I got through it all, but with so many people donating and pledging support, I felt I really had to finish. For full results click here.
Thank you very much to all who have already donated. For those who pledged to support, now's the time. And for any others - please give generously and help Shelter.
