A marathon in memory of my stillborn son Oliver #runningforoliver
Fundraising for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity
Story
On the 16th March 2018 my world changed for ever, my son Oliver was still born. Instead of having a son to take home and welcome into my crazy family, Roxanne and Myself entered into the darkest days of our lives. It has been a very hard few months, and will carry on being a very hard few years. But Oliver will always be alive in our hearts.
Through this heartbreaking time, SANDS have helped us along the way. Right from the very start, they supplied the 'forget me not' room at the Royal Surrey Hospital, where myself and Roxanne 7 nights in total. This gave us privacy and a place where visitors could come and see us at anytime. They have provided us with endless booklets and advise, not just for us but also for the family. Roxanne has also been to various support groups. They also run various events and groups etc through the year and support so many people.
To raise money for this worthwhile charity, I will be running various runs, ending in a Marathon April 2019.
7th July 2018 Petersfeild 10k (with my mum and sister!)
21st Oct 2018 Great South Run
10th Nov 2018 Remembrance Day Run 10k
3rd Feb 2019 Chichester 10k
10th March 2019 Surrey Half Marathon
14th April 2019 Brighton Marathon
Those of you that know me well, will know I have a metal ankle, which adds extra problems to my training and running, so surely that alone is a reason to up your donations!!!
I've never fund raised before, and with this charity being so close to my heart I really would love to smash my £3500 Target.
If anyone want's to join me on any of the runs or training runs I would love company!!!
