Story
WHAT AM I DOING?
I am going to cycle Coast to Coast between Morcambe & Bridlington which is a distance of 170 miles, I will be doing it over 4 days, so between 40 & 50 miles each day, it's on a budget, so I am using a second hand standard bike I bought online (Nope! it's not electric).
We will be part of a larger organised group and will be supported at regular points along the way, a good friend of mine, Adam Read will be riding with me as part of the challenge.
Training is ongoing, for an old unfit bloke, that hasn't ridden a bike over 35 years, it's taking it's tole........I am wearing two pairs of padded pants and it's still not enough......
WHY AM I DOING THIS?
I was diagnosed with a 3 inch Brain Tumour (SEE PICS BELOW) and also a 2.5 inch Tumour in my neck (Thyroid Cancer) in 2016, while in hospital I benefited from all the great work of the Sheffield NHS Neurological Team & Neurocare. I had both tumours removed & I am recovering.
While in Hospital I witnessed people from all over the UK getting life saving treatment on Neurological wards, it was amazing to see.
WHY NEUROCARE?
Fundraising means so much to Neurocare, NHS staff and the patients whose lives have been improved and saved by the kindness and generosity of people like you. Every penny you raise helps Neurocare fund life-saving equipment, research, patient and family support services, hospital transformations and medical training, all of which enhance the care and treatment of neuroscience patients being treated in Sheffield's NHS hospitals. Thank you all so much for your support!
