Dear Friends,

I've been a runner now for many years.  During this time, I've run some crazy distances!  With a few marathons under my belt, I've upped my game and went even further in 2020.  I thought I had done it all.   I was wrong.

Throughout the years, I've also chosen to run for charity and 2020 has been no different.  With that in mind, I have "one last fish to fry."  in what will be my toughest challenge yet, I am setting out to run/walk 100 miles in 36 hours or less.  But, I wanted to be sure that this run truly meant something, something more than just another running challenge.

When I run the Pittsburgh Marathon every year, I dedicate each mile to someone special. This challenge, however, requires a little something more. I need to dig deep and really look for some inspiration, and I think I know just where to find it!  For 100 miles all over the greater Pittsburgh area, I'm choosing to dedicate each and every single one to all of the children at The Children's Hospital Of Pittsburgh!

We can all agree that 2020 has been a challenge and hard on everyone, and with an ongoing pandemic, things have not quite been the same for any of us.  All of these wonderful children face greater and larger than life obstacles every single day.  The global pandemic also makes those obstacles a little more difficult to deal with, especially during this time of year.

So, I had a thought. Not only will these miles be dedicated and run in honor of the children at Children's Hospital, but these miles will also be run fully dressed as Buddy from the movie "Elf." Previously I've run dressed in Ralphie's "pink nightmare" pajamas from "A Christmas Story", and I wanted to really embrace the holiday season in a wild and crazy way!
