Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I honestly can’t believe I’m actually going to be running the London Marathon!! It’s not something I ever thought I’d do. After turning to running as a way to help with my mental and physical health, I never in my wildest dreams thought I’d ever do 1 race, let alone a 10k, then a 10 miler, then a Half Marathon and now a Marathon. I think I’ve definitely caught the running bug!

But why am I doing this? I’m doing it because I want to honour my wonderful father in law, Prof Brian Ellis. He fought such a courageous battle against bowel cancer and sadly lost his battle on the 23rd Dec last year. It’s coming up to a year since his anniversary and we miss him terribly and I want to run this for him.

He was so passionate about The Swinfen Charitable Trust and his wife Loveday and himself worked for them for numerous years as referees helping those in need get the medical attention they require from all over the world. Their humanitarian network is the longest operating telemedicine non-profit in existence. And their goal is to build the world’s free medical lifeline.

So please if you can spare a few pounds I would be so grateful and I know Brian and Loveday would be too. Thank you so much!
