Hey everyone,
A friend's daughter was diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy at just 9 months old. This is the result of a stroke-like brain injury she suffered in pregnancy still. It means that she cannot use the right side of her body as well as the left.
Emília is now 2 years old and doing amazing, all credit to this small charity called Small Steps. Based in Roehampton, SW London, they help children from all over london and the Home Counties. These children have a range of disabilities that affect movement and development and require physiotherapy and a lot of positive encouragement to develop and flourish. It is because of Small Steps and their work that Emilia learnt to sit up, stand and most recently walk unaided.
Small Steps have nearly 70 families in their system at the moment, all receiving 2 hours a week of fun, play based conductive education therapy sessions. Whilst is all free of charge for these families, Small Steps have to fundraise continuously to raise the money to keep working. They are a small independent charity receiving no government funding and they need our help.
Me, Alex and Mark are running a half marathon in September and we need your help. It would really push us on if you could donate a little to our cause and help this amazing charity.
Many thanks
