Hi everyone. So I can't believe I am saying this, but I am taking part in the Young Epilepsy #ComeflywithYE 2016. I will be strapped into the 5 point harness and will take off for an ultimate (Scary!!!!) experience that will include zooms and climbs at speeds up to 130mph.

By joining the team I will be raising funds and awareness of Young Epilepsy's specialist school, St Piers. This new state of the art school will provide outstanding, highly specialised education for children and young people with neurological conditions and learning disabilities such as epilepsy, autism, non-weight bearing needs, acquired brain injury and profound multiple learning difficulties. I also believe in a brighter future for all, and I want to help in being the change we wish to see in the world. 

I have had Epilepsy since 2006, just before starting secondary school. I began having what was thought to be a daydream, at first nobody noticed, because they seemed to be pretty brief, but these later developed into more complex epilepsy and I would experience different types of seizures. Epilepsy has made me into a stronger individual and since having the condition  I have realised that changes are inevitable and not always controllable. What can be controlled is how you manage, react to and work through the change process. I learned to embrace each challenge in my life as an opportunity for self-transformation.
