Mesothelioma is a little known form of lung cancer that is caused by exposure to asbestos dust.  The fact that the cancer is incredibly aggressive and incurable means that the vast majority of sufferers succumb to it within a year of diagnosis.  My father was one of the 2500 souls to suffer that fate in 2015, living for a mere seven months after initial diagnosis.  Mesothelioma UK is a fantastic charity that helps sufferers and their relatives come to terms with the condition.  I found their 24 hour helpline to be invaluable and am keen to raise money so that others can receive the help and advice they will certainly need.
