Before I met my wife, Jo, I was pretty oblivious to most things and I have to count myself lucky that cancer was one of those things.  Sadly, not long after meeting her (or actually quite long but time flies when you're having fun), she lost her mother to cancer.  And then found out that she had a BRCA mutation that greatly increased her chances of developing cancer in her life.  Together, (but mostly her) we have been through plenty of highs and lows in the last 10 years, from having children to not having nipples, we really have been there and done that.  And when I say we, I really mean my amazing wife and not me at all.  It sounds like it might be about time I did something difficult, for once, instead of her.

So the difficult thing I chose, or had chosen for me I guess, was to cycle from Glasgow to London.  Its only a few hundred miles right.  And it's as easy as riding a bike, so I should be fine.  It also gives me a chance to inject some well needed money into working out the best way to reduce the number of people out there without mothers, wives, sisters and aunties due to those damn ovaries. (I'd like to point out some ovaries are OK, and this sweeping generalisation is aimed purely at loosening those purse strings).
