Story

Hi there

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page, follow me on twitter if you like: Dedfuller

After telling people that I'm planning to cycle from Lands End to John O' Groats they usually ask which charity I'm raising money for. Until recently I hadn't considered this, if I'm honest, but someone put me onto re-cycle, a registered charity that send bikes and train people to fix them in different parts of Africa. I've lifted the following straight from their website:

"Transport and development go hand-in-hand. Virtually everything traded, must be transported, and almost everyone needs wheels to get to work or school. Simple, affordable transport generates wealth in developing countries, as well as saving lots of time and back-breaking work".

To find out more about them just google (or use another appropriate search engine) Re-Cycle.org.

I think it's a really simple but very effective idea for a charity and delivers on many different levels. For this reason, if not for the fact that 876 miles + will leave me with a very sore bum please give them your hard earned cash.

Also:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Cheers!

Dan

We collect used bicycles in the UK and we ship them, in containers, to people who need them in Africa. Some people living in rural African communities walk miles everyday to reach water, school, work or healthcare. Bikes are a sustainable mode of transport and help change lives for many families.
