A Springhill Skydive for Sylvia
Fundraising for Springhill Hospice (Rochdale)
Story
I am raising money for a fantastic cause by carrying out a skydive in memory of my incredible Great Aunt Sylvia.
Sylvia gave her entire life and any spare time she happened to have to both national and local charities close to her heart. As an animal-lover, local celebrity and generally all-round lovely person, Sylvia had the biggest, kindest heart I have ever come across.
Last year we were given the worst news; Sylvia was diagnosed with Cancer affecting her oesophagus, which was incurable and at this point was told she was palliative and had approximately 3 months to live.
Following her unfortunate passing in January this year, I vowed to fundraise for the amazing people at Springhill Hospice who went out of their way to make Sylvia's final months the most enjoyable she could possibly imagine under the circumstances. Because of the kindness demonstrated by the incredible staff at the Hospice, my Aunt spent her last few hours surrounded by her favourite people and once she had said her goodbyes to her dearest family and friends, fell asleep with a smile on her face.
On Saturday 16th September 2017, I will be paying my respects by taking part in a Tandem Skydive on behalf of Springhill Hospice in reflection of my fun-loving Aunt who always lived her life to the fullest.
Please feel free to donate to this wonderful cause to ensure that Springhill Hospice can continue to offer the same compassion and support to other families whose terminally-ill relatives deserve to make the most of their final months/weeks/days/hours under the best possible care, just as my Great Aunt was able to.

Thank you for taking the first step to helping us raise the £3 million a year it costs to keep the doors of Springhill Hospice open.
The services we provide are free of charge. We care for adults aged 18 and over with a life limiting illness. As well as caring for in-patients we also provide respite care, pain and symptom control, counselling for patients and family members, a day hospice for out-patients, hospice care in the home and bereavement advice.
