Story
Hello friends,
This year, when I was deciding how to celebrate my 30th birthday, I thought that it would be great to take on a challenge and fundraise for a charity doing incredible work. Instead of receiving gifts, I’m asking each of you to help me in raising as much money to support Cancer Research UK.
You can help in two ways; simply by donating and/or getting people to know and talk about the event.
My goal is to raise a £1000, so please share my story and urge others to donate via my justgiving page in anyway you can, whether that’s through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest or Email. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/DanniLoughlin
Half of us will hear the words “you have cancer” at some point in our lives, so I’m certain, like me, many of your loved ones have either had cancer, are in the throes of it right now, or have devastatingly lost their lives to the disease.
So will you join me in supporting Cancer Research UK to celebrate my birthday in March when I’ll be taking on CRUK's The Great Row challenge?
I will be completing the Full Marathon distance of 26.2 miles on Wednesday 29th March at David Lloyd Lincoln between 15:30-19:30
I would love for as many people as possible to participate in the challenge. Again, there are two ways you can get involved if you want to raise even more money by rowing too!
Challenge week runs 25th March – 1st April 2017, the week before the Cancer Research UK Boat Races. Select a date, choose a distance which best suits you, (2000m, 4.2 miles, Half Marathon - 13 Miles, Full Marathon - 26 Miles) and start your fundraising!
Alternatively, I'm currently looking for 21 people to row along side me as I take on my Marathon row. The criteria:
1. Be a member of David Lloyd Lincoln.
2. Be able to complete 2000 meters (less than a 10 minute effort) on Wednesday 29th March between 15:30-19:30.
3. Raise/donate £25 for Cancer Research UK.
(Please contact me directly if you're interested.)
If you’re still wondering whether to or not, just pause for a moment to consider how lucky you are to be able to think about doing it. Cancer stops far too many people from having that chance.
Let’s #pulltogether and stop cancer in its tracks.
1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. But advances in science have put cures within our grasp. Please support this work by sponsoring me now.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart,
Danni.
