Story

The Jake McCarthy Foundation was set up in January 2013 in memory of Jake McCarthy.

On December 24th 2012 Jake McCarthy lost his life to an undiagnosed brain tumour whilst on holiday in Thailand with his brother Josh.  He had been treated for migraines in the UK.

There isn't a day that goes by that everybody that loved Jake doesn't feel robbed and heartbroken.  And so his family set up the Foundation to do what they can to stop others having to experience the same thing.

In a short space of time, the Foundation, led by Jake's Mum and Dad Barbara and John, have already accomplished a lot:  Raising money to support rare but much-needed research into brain tumours, and raising awareness of little-known symptoms on a national scale.

On June 13th, together with Jake's friends and family, I'll be riding 100 miles from Rothley to Norfolk to raise money for the Foundation.

Jake has been my best friend since we were little kids, but the truth is that Jake remains a best friend, best cousin, best nephew, best brother, and best son to a huge group of people.

Please give what you can, so the Foundation can keep up the fight and help spare other families from losing a loved one like Jake.

Thanks a million.
