Although I am English and a uk resident I spent 3 many happy years in Guernsey between 2000-2003 making many friends in the island many of who compete for the island at island games, Olympic and commonwealth games level aswell as at national level. I haven't missed an island games since the one in Guernsey in 2003 and am a big supporter of Guernsey sport. 2 years ago I took up running myself after being inspired by what my Guernsey athletics friends have achieved. I have run 2 full marathons my 1st ever one being last year in las vegas and it was a struggle I finished in 3.59.55 I then ran the Barcelona marathon in march this year and finished it in 3.24.54. I hope to run the Chicago marathon in 3 hours to qualify for boston which is my dream goal. The reason why I have chosen to do this marathon in aid of the sarah groves charity aswell as my own personal finish time goal is that I have friends who were close friends of sarahs and they did the Guernsey to paris cycle. What they achieved and the money they raised with that cycle is amazing and I wanted to do something myself to support this charity.
