Story
As a teenager I was diagnosed with Epilepsy and thankfully after treatment, medication, care and support form both friends, family and a wonderful medical team I was taken off my medication before my 18th Birthday.
I felt it is finally time to give something back to his wonderful Charity that is close to my heart.
When I was diagnosed my Uncle Fraser ran London Marathon for Epilepsy so now it is my turn to run the famous course in October 2021.
I am fortunate to be a Head of Year in a large secondary school in Norwich. The Charity team has assigned Epilepsy Society as our Year's Charity too.
Alongside my efforts in running the VLM the Year group will be doing a wide range of fundraising events throughout the year.
Myself and my Year group have aimed to raise £2,000 for the charity.
Epilepsy Society's incredible Team Purple will be dedicating days, weeks and months to fundraising and training for this iconic 26.2 mile running event to change the lives of people affected by epilepsy across the UK.Our exciting new phase of genetic research will enable those with epilepsy to receive the right diagnosis, at the right time and receive the right medication and care. We also provide information and emotional support via our helpline for people with epilepsy, their families, friends and professionals. Our work wouldn't be possible without the passion and dedication of our incredible supporters and fundraisers.
