The Armed Forces Para-Snowsport Team (AFPST), formerly CSDST, uses adaptive snowsports to enhance the recovery of the UK's wounded, injured and sick military personnel; both serving and veteran. It reintroduces the spirit of challenge and competition they were accustomed to in normal Service life.

Story

Leonardo is supporting the Armed Forces Para-Snowsports Team (AFPST) the charity which supports the rehabilitation, recovery and transformation of our injured, wounded and sick service and veteran men and women who have given so much for our country. We started this journey 10 years ago supporting just 12 athletes and now the charity has over 100 athletes that it supports on their individual journey of rehabilitation and allowing them to achieve new challenges that they never thought were possible.

In 2019 Leonardo is organising the ‘Ride of Steel’ fundraising event, which will see all eight UK sites undertake a challenge to cycle from their site to Sheffield, converging in unison on Sheffield on 22 July 2019 in order to coincide with the start of the UK Invictus Trials.

A team from my work are doing this ride over 4 days.

I'm planning to ride the 235 miles in one go meeting up with my team in the early hours of Monday morning for the final leg of the journey into Sheffield.
