Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In April 1995 Albert Osbon, my father, lost his battle with Myasthenia Gravis(MG)*. He was just 63 years old. As this is the 20th year anniversary of his passing I wanted to do something special in his memory. I'm planning this over the course of weekend of what would have been my fathers 85th Birthday.

Over the course of those 48hrs I will attempt to read 20 graphic novels**. This is no mean feat as normally it would take around 2hrs to read just one of these.

The 20 I plan to read are:

  • Y The Last Man volumes 1-10(full set) by Brian K. Vaughan.
  • Alex + Ada volume 2 by Jonathan Luna.
  • Sex Criminals volume 2 by Matt Fraction.
  • Outcast volume 1 by Robert Kirkman .
  • Happy by Grant Morrison.
  • Roche Limit volume 1 by Michael Moreci.
  • Revival volume 5 by Tim Seeley.
  • Deep Gravity volume 1 by Gabriel Hardman.
  • Winterworld volume 1 by Chuck Dixon.
  • The Wicked + The Divine volume 1 by Kieron Gillen.
  • Morning Glories volume 1 by Nick Spencer.

During the course of the read-a-thon I also plan to run updates here and via my Twitter account - @dmosbon.

*MG is an autoimmune condition. Antibodies which normally fight infections go wrong and attack the communication system between the brain and movement muscles.

**a graphic novel, for those that don't know, is a collection of comic book content(see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_novel).
