Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit this Just Giving page set up in loving celebration and memory of Dave.
As a family, we've been overwhelmed by the messages of love and support received since Dave sadly passed away on 18th February. He was a very special man whose kindness, humour and cheekiness touched the hearts of many many people.
Throughout his five-week stay in Southend General Hospital, Dave repeatedly asked how he could express his thanks to the incredible team of staff on the Eleanor Hobbs ward that so expertly and compassionately cared for him. Therefore, it feels only right to honour his wish to thank this amazing team after his passing.
To this end, instead of floral tributes (which only immediate family will send) we're asking you to instead consider making a donation to the Eleanor Hobbs ward. We're liaising with the Ward Manager and the Fundraising team at SGH currently to understand if there is a particular piece of kit that could be funded in Dave's memory (we already know they need two IV infusion pumps and would love to have a games console in the relatives room for younger relatives). We will, of course, let everyone know how the money is spent, but rest assured that however it is used by the ward, it will serve to enhance the care given to patients like Dave, and the support given to families of those patients.
If you'd like to make a donation, you can do so online through this Just Giving page. Alternatively, envelopes will be available at Dave's funeral for those wishing to make a cash or cheque donation (payable to 'Southend Hospital Charity' with 'Eleanor Hobbs, in memory of David Mulloy' written on the reverse).
For those wishing to come along, Dave's funeral will take place at 2pm on Tuesday 21st March at Southend Crematorium. Followed by a Wake from 3:30pm-5:30pm at The Salvation Army Hadleigh Farm Tea Rooms (SS7 2AP). We would like anyone attending to wear whatever they wish, but somehow to incorporate 'a touch of red' to honour Dave's love for Liverpool FC.
With love and thanks xxx
