The ability to get around is vital in order to live a full life yet thousands of people with sight loss never leave home alone. We empower visually impaired people to do that and rely on the support of the public to fund the guide dog service.

Story

Thanks for visiting my JustGiving site.   Some of you will know that I religiously watch the London Marathon every year, cheering on the runners with a beer in my hand and loving every minute.   So when I started to see more and more blind runners in the marathon two things sprung to mind.   Firstly how amazing they are to have so much trust in their running partner and secondly what a cop out it was for me to be standing on the side lines.   So 3 years ago I started applying to run in the Guide Dogs for the Blind Team and on my 3rd attempt, which ended in basic begging, they accepted me.   I am over the moon and extremely scared of the challenge ahead of me but who couldn't be motivated enough for such an amazing charity.   Of course I need the support of my family and friends, not just financially but mentally.   So in the middle of winter when I have to put some hours in on the road please, please encourage me and don't tempt me to a glass of vino!!!

Thanks for any donation, every penny counts to my overall fund raising so please don't think an amount is too small.
I look forward to seeing your faces cheering on our team on the 17th April 2011 - yokes!!!
