Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My heart goes out to all those people that have, or have had someone with dementia in their lives.

A diagnosis can come as a shock - even if you’ve been half expecting
it. They say that you grieve twice; I went through this with my Mum, it
was heart breaking to watch her change and see her struggle, knowing
that she would never be the same again. When I knew the end was near, I
didn't want her to go but it was cruel to see her suffer and I loved
her far too much to see her continue in this way. I was lucky in a way, Mum knew who I was and she understood my love for her.
I cry because I miss her, she was my Mum and my friend.

It's so hard to understand this horrid disease and there needs to be
more research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia. So
I’m planning to climb Ben Nevis in July, sponsored of course, and the
money raised will go to Dementia Research. I’ll be accompanied by my
wonderful family and friends and the climb itself should be good
therapy!
If you want to take part in a great experience and raise
money for a very good cause please get in touch. I’ve attached a link
if you would be kind enough to sponsor me – Thank you
