I know these days, Cancer is ever-present. However I would like you to think about the damage it does to families and communities. I lost my Mam (Ann) Dad (Mervyn) Uncles Tony, Ted, Maurice and Walter and Auntie Pat all to cancer. As well as this, my partner lost her husband in 2008.

These losses affect all of us and has split my family over the years - let's help charities like Butterwick look after those of us in that unfortunate position with dignity, consideration and expertise. Palliative and end-of-life care is a specialist area.

I've done some charity work in the past but I'd like to start again in 2016 with the Great North Run. All contributions gratefully received.
