Story

Dear Friends,

I have decided to run the 10km run here in Bristol on the 5th of May. This was a bit of a surprise to me to be honest, seeing as I hate running without a ball at my feet. I’m not quite sure how I convinced myself to do it.

Anyway, I have decided to raise some money for a charity called Inspiration for Life, which was set up by one of my University lecturers, Tim Richardson, who very sadly past away in February. I will also be raising money for its partner charity, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Tim was an incredibly inspirational guy, with a great passion for science. He was also a very nice guy and always seemed to have so much time for everyone. He will be greatly missed. Recently he also decided to lecture for 24 hours non-stop on a variety of different science topics for Children In Need. Before he passed away he decided to set the charity, Inspiration for Life, with the aim of promoting the understanding of science amongst other things. If you would like to know more you can read below or visit: www.inspirationforlife.co.uk

If you would like to sponsor me then you can either give money to Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity on this page OR you can give money directly to me (paper sponsorship form), which will be sent directly to Inspiration for life. Drop me a line if you would like to do the latter.

Any donation no matter how large or small will be greatly appreciated.

Please note that you details are safe with JustGiving– they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity.

Thanks,

Dyfrig

Inspiration for Life:

Inspiration for life is a charity that aims to do a number of things including promoting lifelong learning and encouraging the public understanding of science through publications and lectures and other events. The charity will do this by working closely with the University, and linking with local schools and organisations that share these goals. The Charity will also channel funds to other organisations, specifically those who research into the treatment of cancer, and support cancer patients. They will be working in partnership with Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity, and other local charities, such as Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and St Luke’s Hospice.

About the charity

For one in two of us, cancer will change everything. When it does, so can we. Our services, advice, therapies and support are for you and the people close to you, helping everyone to live with and beyond cancer. The funds we raise also support vital, pioneering research and clinical trials.
