Pre-eclampsia is a pregnancy complication that is characterized by high blood pressure and signs of liver and kidney damage during  pregnancy.  Left untreated, this can lead to serious and sometimes fatal complications for a mother and child.  

I have been blessed with the opportunity to not only run in the London 2021 Marathon in October, but to also be part of this event on a bigger scale.  I will be running for a UK charity named APEC--Action on Pre-eclampsia.  This charity has been working for over 20 years to support, educate and save the lives of women every day through  educational programs on the most up to date information on this disease, as well as providing women in the community with amazing and well informed health care providers to take care of them.  The dedicated work that APEC does to save lives and  to ensure that every woman has a safe and healthy pregnancy is amazing!

Your generosity, no matter the amount (no amount is too small) will continue to provide APEC with the resources to educate midwives and health care professionals so that they may continue to help more women in the community and ensure their safety and well being both physically and emotionally.  In addition, it will provide needed funding to raise public awareness on this disease that affects our mothers, friends, sisters, aunts, and many within every community.
