Story
Hi everyone!
My name is Elizabeth, I'm 19 and in April I will volunteering in Burkina Faso with the charity International Service. Whilst I am there I will be working with a local charity and staying with a host family.
International Service is a human rights based organisation, They work with women, children, families and the disabled, empowering and supporting them to strive for a better life. I feel passionate about these issues and believe that every individual should try their best to actively reduce these in an attempt to create a happier world.
I am extremely lucky to have been given the opportunity to work first hand with the charity, But first I have to fund raise £800 towards International service to show my commitment and dedication and to ensure that they can continue to positively change and impact peoples lives, making the world a better place.I will be raising this money through various upcoming activities and events, the first fundraising activity will be a 'Walk in their shoes". On Friday the 20th I will be walking 3 miles, from Silverdale to Arnside, barefoot and carrying a bucket of water on my head. Walking miles in harsh conditions is something women and children have to do everyday to collect water(that will be dirty). If you would like to sponsor me or give money to the charity please make a donation, no matter how much, every little helps!
