Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My children aged 9 and 12 will be joining me on Parkinson's Care and Support UK's Virtual Cycle Challenge. We will cycle 200 miles in memory of my father who had Parkinson's and passed away in January 2019. Help us to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic charity, which is so close to our hearts.

Parkinson’s Care and Support UK (PCSUK) is the only UK charity that
focuses on complementary, alternative and wellness treatments and therapies to improve quality of life for people with Parkinson’s.

As there is no cure for Parkinson’s Disease, we aim to ensure that
people live well for as long as possible with the conditions, whilst simultaneously funding non-pharmaceutical research to help prevent, slow down progression and reverse Parkinson’s.

We care for family carers of those with Parkinson’s and they are at the
heart of our work. Parkinson’s goes beyond affecting the person with the condition. As a former carer of my father, I know how rewarding, yet challenging caring for a loved one can be.

Parkinson’s Care and Support UK:

  • are the only UK charity that provides FREE face to face and
online exercise classes throughout the UK
  • provide FREE respite care for family carers of those with
Parkinson's who may be struggling to take care of their loved ones or who
otherwise need additional support. Our carers continue to deliver this vital
    service during the coronavirus crisis.
  • provide FREE neurological physiotherapy for people with
Parkinson's who typically may not be able to attend a local exercise class due
to physical limitations. Our physiotherapists continue to deliver this service
to the most vulnerable who are at greatest risk of falls.
  • provide information on diet, nutrition, exercise and
alternative therapies to improve quality of life for those with Parkinson's
  • fund social and community based events and activities to
reduce isolation amongst people with Parkinson's
    and their carers
