Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. As I like to challenge myself, I'm now hoping to to raise at least £500.

I've also set myself the challenge of running at least 1000km and completing 12 races in 2018.

So please give as much as you can!

Several people have asked why I'm 'only' running a half marathon. Unfortunately, 20+ years of pavement pounding has left me with an incredibly fragile left foot. Running 13.1 miles in March will be both painful and challenging. I wish I could complete another marathon but I can't. 

Quite a few people have asked me why I suddenly decided to raise money for a thyroid cancer charity. I decided to raise money for the Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust to support my very good friend and mentor; Professor Geoff Petts. 

Geoff was unfortunately recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and I found the information provided by the  Butterfly Thyroid Cancer Trust incredibly useful. Although thyroid cancer is rare, numbers are rising with approximately 2700 new cases in the UK each year. 

So please dig deep and help me smash my fundraising target!
