Story

This year I’m taking part in the Great North Run to raise money for the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. I want to run in memory of my lovely Mum who I lost 4 years ago to this devastating disease. It’s hard to put into words how losing her has affected me, but she was my best friend and there will always be a huge gap in my life where she should be. I only took up running after she passed away, and she would have laughed at me for doing it but also, I hope, be a little bit proud. If I can help stop another family having to go through this unbearable loss, then it will all be worth it. I know a lot of people run the GNR, and all for fabulous causes, but if you can spare a few pennies for me, I would be very grateful.
