Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On 6th March 2012 at 7.33am our perfect son was born. Tragically he was stillborn at 41 weeks, having died during the early stages of labour. He was 8lb 1oz and looked beautiful, and will always be loved and missed by his mummy and daddy. Medical staff haven't been able to find any reason for Ewan's death, which has now been termed 'unexplained'.
We would like to remember Ewan by raising money for the Sands charity in his memory. We have already received support from them and will continue to do so in the future.
Sands is an organisation which can offer you support when your baby dies during pregnancy or after birth. The death of a baby is a devastating experience. The effects of grief can be overwhelming and parents, their families and friends can be left feeling dazed, disorientated, isolated and exhausted.
Sands is a national charity, established by bereaved parents in 1981. They have 3 core aims which are to:
- Support anyone affected by the death of a baby;
- Work in partnership with health professionals to improve the quality of care and services offered to bereaved families; and
- Promote research and changes in practice that could help to reduce the loss of babies' lives
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
