On the 25th of October, I will be Firewalking to raise funds and awareness for the charity Muted in memory of Ben Thompson, a big part of our family and my granddaughters Daddy.

Muted is a registered charity to help support sufferers, carers, friends and families dealing with the effects of Depression suffered by Men.

‘We never anticipated the huge amount of money that has currently been raised but this now means we can accelerate our plans for 2020 with our main project of delivering presentations, tools box talks and support within the workplace. We have known for a long time that its so hard to reach the men that maybe struggling but by going to them in the workplace it is so effective. This also provides the opportunity to reach the loved ones who we know are equally affected whilst providing support. In line with this project, we will now be able to recruit additional and much needed volunteers and peer supports, provide them with the required training and generate so much more awareness of the charity, mental health and our projects.
