Story

Hey everyone! I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated! I did my run in 1hr15 :)

Thank you for visiting this page.

I am running to raise money for the ME association. This charity does fantastic work in supporting sufferers and families, alongside undertaking incredible research in trying to determine the causes of ME.

There are 250,000 recognised cases of ME in the UK at the moment.

Sadly alongside many other families, members of my family have battled the disease. Alan Cumming, my stepbrothers father, was one. He sadly lost his battle to the disease in 2005.

Alan was a quiet, calm man, liked and respected by all who knew him.  He had an keen sense of the ridiculous that lightened many a difficult situation.  He was an active sportsman – playing and then latterly leading the Gargunnock Football team and a member of Callander Golf Club.  He was passionate about the teams he supported – Celtic Football Club and Derby Country Football Club.  His family connections with the latter led him to become something of an authority on the history of the team’s early triumphs and he wrote a series of articles for the club and other interested groups.  He played a full and active part in community life in his home village - Gargunnock.

I want to fundraise for this charity in his memory and to help all otheraufferers. Raising money for this great cause could help to find a cure.

So please give give give!!! No amount is too small And everything is greatly aappreciated!

Thank you,

Gail!

The ME Association campaigns hard to get ME recognised as a severe neurological illness. Our helpline provides essential information and support to adults and children who have ME/CFS, and to their families and carers. We also fund biomedical research into the physical nature and causes of ME/CFS.
