Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I am doing the Marathon in memory of my Dad , Norman Tovey, and to raise money for his favourite  charity The Brain and Spine Foundation. Dad ran the London Marathon a few times, firstly when he was 60 and in less than 4 hours! And lastly when he was part of the Brain and Spine Foundation team at 80 years young. He was a very keen sportsman, playing for the mighty Harlequins and organised half marathons at Cobham Hall where he taught Physics. He always helped and encouraged all his  8 grandchildren in everything that they did.I am doing the Marathon with my daughter Emma and to add a bit of fun and to take my mind off how far we have to go! We are going to take a mini table tennis table around with us and play a game at a few landmarks  along the route.

Along with your donation, why not have a guess at the score of the table tennis match played between Emma and me haphazardly along the route?! (best of 5 legs, each up to 11)

We would really appreciate any donations for The Brain and Spine Foundation. Also, please visit Emma's Just giving page for more donating fun!      EmmaTovey/marathon

Thank you,

Gavin
