Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My dear youngest brother, Dr. Francis (Fran) Lawrenson, died in January 2022, as a result of throat cancer. During the last few months of his life he was cared for at home by specialist community nurses from St Gemma's Hospice, Leeds. Through their care and dedication my brother was able to live as comfortably as possible to the end of his life in familiar surroundings - much to his wishes and those of his family.

Fran was a very keen cyclist all his life. He participated in numerous cycle trips and tours in the UK, and Europe - and even to Brazil! Many were organised trips, others were less planned, but were all the more enjoyable for the company he kept.

In 2015 Fran and I rode together in the 100 mile Ride London event, raising money for charitable causes. On 29th May 2022 I am riding the event again in his memory. I hope to raise £1,000 for St. Gemma's Hospice.  Please help me on my way by making a donation to the Hospice.
