Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those of you who knew Helen, you already know what a brave and inspirational person she was. Funny, kind and caring until the very end, she is missed by so many.

I have 2 reasons for signing up for the Santathon. The first being a few months before Helen sadly passed away she gave me the devastating news that she may not be here for Christmas. As she was so brave tears weren't an option, so my response was that we would put a tree up and have Christmas in August if we needed to. Sadly we didn't manage this, so I thought this would be a fitting tribute to my very dear and brave friend. And I have every belief that she'll be having a jolly good laugh at my expense as im running (or walking!) The second reason is that I had the privilege of meeting the nurse from St Francis hospice who came in to see Helen. She treated Helen and her family with the kindness and respect that Helen showed others. St Francis made a difference, and I hope that I can raise some money in order for them to continue with their amazing work.

I'd also like to say thank you Lisa Wilson, Julie Bowes and Tony Watts who are taking part with me, despite not having had the pleasure of meeting Helen, like her, they're good friends. Thank you!

So, if I can be so bold as to ask yome sponsor me, any amount, no matter how small would be gratefully appreciated. It will all make a difference to the hospice.
