Story
First I was nicknamed “Marathon Man”, then “Ultra-Marathon Man” and now I guess you will have to call me “Sahara Desert Nutter”
In April 2014 I will be joining an elite group of runners (Nutter’s) in the Marathon Des Sables, ranked by the Discovery Channel as the “toughest footrace on earth”.
The race covers approximately 150 miles, over seven days, across the Sahara Desert. I will be running the equivalent of five and a half marathons, in extreme conditions: (think dunes, 50°c temperatures and sand storms)
If you have 5 minutes and want a laugh watch the Race video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQ21aIF9BxI&feature=player_embedded#!
For the entire race I have to carry everything, with the exception of daily water rations (Yes water is rationed in the desert!). There are some compulsory items, although I’m sure they include them just to frighten you – why do you need a venom pump?

Please watch this short video titled: We are Whizz-Kidz! Kids just want to be kids.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8mOBg6AlmsQ
I was pretty fortunate as a child. Please help me make childhood a bit more fun for those in need.
Many thanks for your support
