Story

We did it!

At the beginning of June 2022, Karan was admitted to Halton Haven Hospice for end-of-life care. The care that she, the family and her friends received astonished us all. It truly was a home from home and they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and treated like one of their family, the Halton Haven family.

Halton Haven is a very special place and it’s not until you have had a personal experience there that you realise how much we need this remarkable hospice in our community. All of the staff and volunteers touched our family dearly and we have created bonds with them that will last forever.

We want to show our appreciation by raising some money to help our amazing local hospice continue with their fantastic work. The hospice relies on donations and without them it would have to close. So, there is a large group of family and friends undertaking the 3 peak challenge in the middle of October, when no doubt there will be snow on the summits.

We are carrying out this challenge in memory of the amazing Karan Waller and are asking everyone to please donate, no matter how big or small, we appreciate anything you can contribute towards our fund-raising event.

Thank you, love from Karan’s Three Peaks Team 😊

The team so far: Ian Waller, Charly Waller, Mark Howard, Vicky Waller, Lauren Waller, James Martin, Rebecca Willis, Mark Youd, Amy-Leigh Willis, Gez Wend! 🥾🏔 💪

Our planned itinerary:

  • Friday 14th October - Drive to Fort William
  • Saturday 15th October – Climb Ben Nevis (highest mountain
    in Scotland), then d
    rive to The Lake District.
  • Sunday 16th October – climb Scafell Pike (highest
    mountain in England), then d
rive to Snowdon. Climb Snowdon  (highest mountain in Wales)
