Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
PLEASE NOTE THAT I WOULD LIKE ALL DONATIONS TO BE GIVEN TO THE NORTHERN IRELAND BRANCH,
10th May 2019, a date I will never forget, I lost my beautiful mum, Maura, to the cruel disease, Motor Neurone Disease. She fought a brave and courageous battle and never lost her sense of humour throughout the dark days. Over a short period of time, she lost the power of speech, she was unable to swallow and her mobility was seriously compromised. I honestly don't know what I will do without her and I would do anything to have her back to tell her I love her. She was my first friend, my best friend and my forever friend. My heart is torn into little pieces right now but I know she will look after us all and be our "Angel Mum."
The wonderful volunteers at MNDA Northern Ireland, dedicated their time and support to make mum's life more comfortable. My amazing dad was mum's carer and the MNDA NI provided him with great care and advice on how to gain access to specialist equipment and other essential services. As a family, we appreciate so much everything these volunteers did for Mum and Dad. We would have been lost without them.
So I would be so grateful if you could donate a coin or two to this wonderful organisation. Approximately 200-240 patients in Ireland have MND at any one time and 80 patients are diagnosed annually. They deserve more money for their research. More drugs are needed to combat this cruel disease.
Thankyou for reading and, Mum, you may have gained your wings but I will NEVER EVER forget you. Love you always x
